DAY 1:

Fly to San Salvador. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your starting hotel in the capital. Welcome to Central America!

DAY 2:

Enjoy a tour of the city and visit the nearby San Salvador Volcano where you can explore the cloudforest on the rim of the volcano’s crater.

DAY 3:

Visit one of Central America’s most exciting Maya ruins – Joya de Cerén – known also as the ‘Pompeii of the Americas’.

DAY 4:

Travel north to Suchitoto, the country’s best-preserved Spanish-colonial town. Enjoy a City Tour, wander the streets and visit the local shops.

DAY 5:

Explore El Salvador’s ‘Flowers Route’, a 36km long ride through the villages at the heart of the country’s coffee-growing area, also home to the country’s main artisan centres.

DAY 6:

Marvel at El Salvador’s stunning volcanoes – Visit the impressive Cerro Verde, Izalco Volcano (known as the Pacific Lighthouse), and have lunch looking over scenic Lake Coatepeque.

DAY 7:

Enjoy a scenic boat ride in Jiquilisco Bay to learn about the turtle conservation programme at one of the world’s largest nesting sites of Leatherback Turtles.

DAY 8:

Say farewell to El Salvador as you catch a boat across the Gulf of Fonseca to Nicaragua and spend the night in León, Nicaragua’s university town.

DAY 9:

Enjoy a City Tour of León, before continuing on to Granada, the second oldest city in the whole of Latin America.

DAY 10:

Explore the Masaya region – the Masaya Volcano, the local market, Lake Apoyo and the Pueblos Blancos, known for its distinctive pottery.

DAY 11:

Early-morning wildlife-spotting boat trip around the Las Isletas, on Lake Nicaragua. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy this charming colonial town.

DAY 12:

Transfer to San Juan del Sur in the south-east of Nicaragua to spend the final few days of your holiday on the beach.

DAYS 13 & 14:

Days at leisure on the beach in San Juan del Sur to relax and unwind. Alternatively you could take on the waves and learn how to surf.

DAY 15:

Say farewell to Central America as you are transferred to Managua International Airport in time for your flight home.
